What is the Delhi Startup Policy
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that the Cabinet had passed the Delhi Startup Policy
The idea is to enable Delhi to emerge as a Global Innovation Hub and the most preferred destination for Startups by 2030
This could enable an eco-system for innovation based economy and fostering entrepreneurial spirit through a robust support mechanism
Kejriwal said that the government will help startups get collateral free loans which will be interest free for a year
Students building startups while studying in Delhi government colleges will be able to seek 1-2 years of leave
Three committees will be set up for the implementation and governance of the policy-Startup Policy Monitoring Committee, a Startup Task Force, and a Nodal Agency
The Startup Policy Monitoring Committee will be headed by the Finance Minister of the Delhi government
The primary function of the committee will be to evaluate and approve the applications of recognised entrepreneurs, startups and incubators
Kejriwal said that the government will handhold long entrepreneurs and help them seek the best advise free of cost from a panel of experts
