Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28 inaugurated the new Parliament building.
The PM entered the new Parliament building at 7.30 am.
Amidst Vedic chants by the priests the PM performed Ganapathi Homa to invoke the Gods to bless the inauguration of the new building.
Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla too was present at the event.
Then PM Modi installed the 'Sengol' in the Lok Sabha next to the seat of the Speaker.
Later, PM Modi unveiled the plaque to mark the inauguration of the New Parliament building along with Speaker Om Birla.
The Sengol was carried midst the tunes of ‘Nadaswaram.’
During the event ‘Ssarv-Dharma prayers were held. Priests from different religions recited the traditional verses.
