krishna murthy
One of the main rituals of Navratri is when people keep fast to offer their puja to goddess Durga.
Women keep fast through the day to seek the blessings of the goddess for their family.
Fasting can have beneficial effects on health but it is essential to treat your body right through it.
It is advisable to not feed the tummy harsh foods like coffee or spicy food or even dairy.
Instead, go for the nutritious and easy-to-digest foods!
But first, before you do anything, drink water, please!
Fruit juices and raw fruits: The first foods that you consume upon breaking a fast are critical to nourish the body. Fruit juices are easily digested.
Try watermelons, grapes, and apples but make sure you avoid citrus fruits as they may be too acidic for your stomach.
Yogurt: Yoghurt or the homemade dahi has always been good for the gut. That holds true even when you've been starving yourself for hours.
Soups: Soups that contain protein and easily digestible carbs, such as lentils, tofu, or pasta, can easily break a fast
Vegetables: Cooked, soft, starchy vegetables like potatoes can be good food options when breaking a fast
Healthy fats: Foods like eggs or avocados can be great first foods to eat after a fast
