There are times when you are forced to call off your trip for some reasons and you already have a confirmed train ticket.
Can the ticket be transferred to another person? The answer is 'yes'.
However, you can only transfer the ticket to your blood relation - father, mother, brother, wife, sister, son daughter or husband.
You need to submit an application to the the Station Manager or the Chief Reservation Supervisor, requesting for a transfer of the ticket.
You also have to submit a photocopy of a document showcasing your relationship with the person whom you are transferring the ticket.
You need to complete this formality at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
In case of larger groups, you need to complete the procedure at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
You should note that all these requests are only approved once. This service can be availed for e-tickets as well.
You have to take ‘Electronic Reservation Slip’ print out along with a photo identity card proof and a document for blood relation with the traveller.
