IMD issues heatwave alert

The IMD has issued a heatwave alert
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat
With the fresh round of heatwave, the maximum temperature will rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over most parts of Northwest and Central India
The heatwave conditions had been forecast in Rajasthan, South Haryana, Delhi, South-West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha from May 8 to 11
In Madhya Pradesh, the temperatures have reached to 40 to 48 degrees Celsius in many areas
The maximum temperature is likely to exceed 42-44 degrees Celsius in some parts of Northwest and Central India
In the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Karaikal, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Goa a rain alert has been issued
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya will witness lighting with rain till May 11, the IMD also said
