How to observe fast during 9-day of Navratri

Some devotees observe fast during the nine-day of the festival.
If you plan to observe the fast, here are the few things about the fast:
During fast, one can eat Kuttu ka Atta (buckwheat flour) or Singhare ka Atta (water chestnut flour) or Rajgira ka Atta (amaranth flour).
You can eat all types of fruits but no vegetables or other flours like wheat, semolina, oats.
No to normal salt. Eat rock salt instead.
Among vegetables, eat potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons and pumpkins.
Use milk and dairy products- curd, paneer, butter.
Don’t use food that has onions and garlic.
