How to delete Instagram account

To request deletion of your Instagram account there are a couple of steps that one needs to follow

Before you delete your account log in and download a copy of your information such as photos and posts from Instagram

You cannot delete your Instagram account from the app. You will have to login from your web browser

Once you have logged in go to the delete your account page from a mobile browser or computer

Select an option from the drop down menu on why you want to delete your account

In the next step re-enter your passsword

The option to permanently delete your account will only appear after you have selected a reason from the menu

Click or tap on delete. Your Instagram account will be deleted
