Developed by HAL, these choppers are designed for high-altitude regions such as mountain terrain.
The LCH has 5.8-tonne twin-engine. It has already completed various weapons firing tests before induction.
The LCH has stealth features, armoured-protection systems, night attack capability and crash-worthy landing gear.
It has been designed with agility, manoeuvrability, extended range, high altitude performance and all-weather combat capability.
It can also be used for bunker-busting in high altitude, counter-insurgency in jungles and urban areas.
During the induction, Rajnath Singh said that Prachand can fly from Kargil to Kanyakumari in any terrains.
