It is a long weekend and banks will remain closed for 4 days
There are at least 10 bank holidays in April according to the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday calendar
Bank holidays are declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act
Starting April 14 there would be 4 bank holidays under April 17
On April 14 banks are closed for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/Mahavir Jayanti/Baisakhi/Vaisakhi/Tamil New Year’s Day/Cheiraoba/Biju Festival/Bohag Bihu.
On April 14 banks will be shut at Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram.
On April 15 banks are closed for Good Friday/Bengali New Year’s Day (Nababarsha)/Himachal Day/Vishu/Bohag Bihu. Banks would remain closed on this day except at Jammu, Srinagar and Rajasthan
On April 16 banks will remain closed in Guwahati for Bohag Bihu
On April 17 banks across India will remain closed was it is a Sunday
