Assam floods: 7 killed, 2 lakh people affected

In Assam, new areas are inundated due to incessant rains in the state.
Assam has witnessed 17.1 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours.
Over 2 lakh people are reeling under the fury of floods in 20 districts.
7 persons lost their lives due to flood and landslides while 6 persons are missing in Cachar district.
Flood water and landslides damaged over 6 thousand houses.
33 thousand flood-hit people are staying at relief camps.
Rice, salt, dal, drinking water, mustard oil and baby food are being distributed among affected people by the district administrations.
