Reason why former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag failed to become head coach of India revealed. Well, Virender Sehwag reportedly spoke to Kohli and asked if the team would be happy to have him in the dressing room in the role of the coach. Kohli was very welcoming and responded in affirmation. However, when Sehwag notified Kohli that he would like to have his own support staff in place, the latter looked unimpressed. Kohli said that the existing support staff shares great bonhomie with the team. Virender Sehwag apparently wanted to have Mithun Manhas as the assistant coach. And finally, Ravi Shastri was selected as team India head coach. What went in Shastri’s favour was the fact that he understood the importance of the work ethic put in place by the existing support staff members who have worked with the team for close to three years,” the source revealed.
