UP's chicken, mutton sellers go on indefinite strike after Yogi's meat crack down

UP's chicken and mutton sellers have gone on indefinite strike after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath called a ban on the illegal slaughter houses in the state. The committee has also asked the meat traders to shut their restaurants and hotels, while stating that under the guise of closure of illegal slaughter house, the government is pestering the small businessmen. According to the records of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, there are 602 registered chicken sellers in the city. But the actual number of such establishments might be higher. Since the business does not involve much investment, chicken outlets have mushroomed.
