Sudarshan TV issued a notice by Centre over 'UPSC Jihad' show, freeze to continue

After the Supreme court of India came down heavily on TV channel Sudarshan News over it's controversial television show on the entry of Muslims in the civil services. The Centre told the Supreme Court today that the hugely controversial programme prima facie violated programme code and a showcause notice has been issued. The channel has to respond on the issue by September 28. The apex court ruled had ruled that the show is aimed at vilifying the Muslim community, barring the channel from going ahead with the telecast of the remaining six episodes of the programme “Bindas Bol” after it has already aired a few episodes. Ordering the Centre to deal with the case as per law, the court said it would hear the matter again on October 5. The freeze on the programme will continue meanwhile.
