Navjot Sidhu seeks Modi govt permission to visit Pakistan for swearingin ceremony

Navjot Singh Sidhu visited the Pakistan High Commission situated in New Delhi on Monday. He is seeking permission to travel to Pakistan for the swearing-in ceremony of the Pakistan Prime Minister-elect, Imran Khan. Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “There are some formalities for which I am here. I have applied for government permission. Everything depends on government’s permission now.” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had confirmed that no foreign dignitaries have been invited for the swearing-in ceremony of Imran Khan. However, the PTI spokesperson had said only select friends of Khan have been invited to the swearing-in, such as former Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Navjot Singh Sidhu, and actor Aamir Khan. Khan will be the 20th Prime Minister of Pakistan and the swearing-in ceremony will be held at President's House in Islamabad.
