The 2nd day of the 1st test match between India and Sri Lanka started on a bad note for the host as they lost wicket of Ajinkya Rahane early on in the day. India’s famed batting order will face another stiff test on Day 2 of the first Test at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Friday. The home team was rocked by Sri Lankan pacer Suranga Lakmal on a rain-hit first day after Virat Kohli lost the toss and India were asked to bat first. Only 11.5 overs were possible on Thursday but on a seaming deck, Lakmal bowled the right length to leave a telling mark on the Indian top order. Kohli and KL Rahul made ducks as Lakmal’s three wickets for no runs left the Lankans with an extra spring in their step.
