India vs Bangladesh: Virat Kohli breaks many records in Hydrabad
Virat Kohli set many records in the one-off Test against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. He remained unbeaten on 111 as India finished Day 1 on 356/3. He is in fact joint-second on the list alongside Mohammad Azharuddin. Sunil Gavaskar, who made 11 hundreds as captain in 47 Tests is on top. Sachin Tendulkar is fourth on the list with seven hundreds from 25 Tests as captain. He became the third Indian after Sunil Gavaskar and Virender Sehwag to score 1000 Test runs in a home season. He is in fact now second on the list after Sehwag for batsmen with most runs in a home Test season.the only Indian captain with three double hundreds in Test cricket and holds a record for most Test wins (9) in a year. Under Kohli, India have won five successive series and are comfortably placed on top of the ICC's Test rankings. He has so far scored two double hundreds and two hundreds in nine home Tests since September. India have four more matches lined up against Australia.
