ICC Champions Trophy may get postponed due to security concerns. The British Parliament had decided to close all public events with immediate effect after the Manchester attacks. Official Website of UK Parliament read, "As a consequence, all tours, events and banqueting will be cancelled with immediate effect. This arrangement will remain in place until the advice changes". Manchester is not the host for any Champions Trophy match this year but is close to some of the venues. Especially, the venue for India‘s matches. Hence, the security threat is a concern for the International Cricket Council. The website of ICC says “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the horrific attack in Manchester. The ICC and ECB place safety and security at the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup this summer as the highest priority. We operate on advice from our Tournament Security Directorate – in conjunction with the ECB and relevant authorities – to ensure that we have a robust safety and security plan for both tournaments. We will continue to work with authorities over the coming hours and days and review our security in line with the threat levels,”.
