Haridwar cow recused from being swept
A cow was rescued from being swept and becoming trapped in a river in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar. It was pulled to safety from the River by The member of State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) team. The whole rescue was video graphed. Cow was said to be in a "distressed" state. Let me tell you,Trivendra Singh laid emphasis on better implementation of the Uttarakhand Protection of Cow Progeny Act, 2007. This Act came into existence during the previous term of the BJP in Uttarakhand, when I was the animal husbandry minister. ...Now that we are back in power, we will ensure its proper implementationin the state," Trivendra Singh Rawat had said. The slaughter of cows in the state is an punishable offense with rigorous imprisonment. It also prohibits persons from freeing cows to wander around after they have grown old.
