Goa Elections 2017: Polling begins, Manohar Parrikar casts his vote

Polling for Goa's 40 Assembly seats started at 7 am on Saturday morning. Over 8,000 additional paramilitary personnel, in addition to the state police, have been deployed at the 1,642 polling stations across the state and other strategic locations to maintain law and order. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar cast his vote at polling booth in Panaji. Initial reports suggest good turnout, Goa might cross last years turnout of 84% & BJP will win with 2/3rd majority”, said Manohar Parrikar. The authorities have set up several 'pink' polling booths across the state to encourage women. Results 40 Assembly seats will be announced on March 11.
