Elephants enter village in Odisha, destroy 20 acres of cultivation
More than 70 elephants from Jharkhand have entered in a village of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj. Locals alleged that the elephants have destroyed more than 20 acres of cultivation in the last two days and aren’t leaving even though officials of Karanjia Forest Division are trying to chase them away. Villagers have been asked by the authorities to lodge a complaint with the forest department, which will consider about giving the compensation.
