EPCA Chairman Bhure Lal, along with other members were also present at the discussion about alternative methods to curb the growing pollution in the city. The Supreme Court appointed panel in its submission on Monday to the Apex Court had also suggested for a ban on diesel vehicles along with stickers to reflect fuel used and age of vehicle to curtail the increase in the levels of pollution in Delhi-NCR. Along with vehicular emissions, the board also stressed on stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana, but said it is not the only reason for the pollution but contributory factors. Speaking the Oneindia, CSE Scientist Anumita Roychowdhury said, "Alternatives are required to be used instead of resorting to burning stubble. These alternatives would require a much better infrastructure and incentive for the farmers, which the State and Central Governments must look into."
