CM Shivraj Chouhan says, all liquor shops within 5 km of Narmada river to be shut down from April 1

In a bid to revive the aesthetic beauty of river Narmada, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that all liquor shops within the 5 km radius of the banks of river Narmada will be shut down from April 1. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s Chief Minister Chouhan in Sehore performed a ‘Maha Aarti’ on the occasion of Narmada Seva Yatra programme in Sehore. Chouhan had earlier mentioned about the cleansing drive of river Narmada on several occasions. Addressing a gathering at Chabi village in Mandla district, he had urged for a society free from addiction. The CM was on a yatra called ‘Namami Devi Narmade – Seva Yatra’.
