Assam floods: 50 dead, many in relief camps; misery continues
The sordid state of affairs in Assam continues. The state remains drowned in floods and there seems to be no respite. Approximately 50 people have lost their lives and nearly 30 thousand put in 123 relief camps in 20 districts. Drinking water, sanitation, food for the elderly, pregnant and lactating mothers have remained serious issues in the camps but the government says there is no shortage of funds to tackle the situation.
