Kerala: IUML leader dumps garbage on road, forced to clean mess
Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 4: In what can be described as a "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" effect, people of Cheruvathur town in Kasargod district of Kerala forced a leader of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) to clean the garbage dumped by him on a national highway.
According to The News Minute report, MA Majid, the IUML member and Secretary of the Peelicode Panchayat committee disposed off all the garbage from a marriage feast that took place in his house on Sunday on the highway, on Monday morning.
The garbage included remains of mutton biryani, disposable plates and cups as well as some of the receipts that mentioned Majid's name.
After seeing his name, the peeved locals decided to confront him to clean up the mess.
After realising his mistake, Majid along with his friends not only cleaned up the mess but also disinfected the place by sprinkling lime.
