Actor Mohanlal hails demonetisation, gets trolled
While he has received severe backlash from people for his post, many others have defended the actor's right to express his opinion.
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has been receiving social media backlash every since his blog on Demonetisation went viral. The actor is being trolled for hailing demonetisation move by the Modi government. His choice of examples has left many miffed.
'We don't mind standing in queues outside liquor stores, religious places and film theatres, and I think there is nothing wrong in waiting outside the banks or ATMs as it is for a good cause', these very words have earned social media ire for the actor.
In his long blogpost of November 21 the actor hailed Narendra Modi for his demonetisation move calling it a 'surgical strike on blackmoney'. His post came at a time when 2 people had lost their lives while standing in long queues to exchange money in Kerala, the primary reason for his post being criticised. Netizens accused him of comparing liquor store queues to bank queues thus overlooking inconveniences caused to the people.
