Eid 2018: Jammu and Kashmir govt orders release of 115 prisoners
On the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the release of 115 prisoners, from various jails of the state. CM Mehbooba Mufti has directed undertaking an exercise to release all those prisoners found not involved in serious crimes so that they can celebrate Eid with their families.
Last year, the PDP-BJP government did not release any prisoners for Eid.
Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday as the Shawwal moon has not been sighted.
According to Rising Kashmir report, On Thursday evening, Pakistan's central Ruet-i-Hilal Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman announced that Shawwal moon was not sighted and that Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Saturday.
