Rio Olympics 2016: French gymnast breaks his leg

Samir Ait broke his left leg after he landed badly. His leg was folded beneath him as he landed on the ground and breaking it in the process. The entire leg got twisted from the middle of the shin bone.

Explaining Samir condition, French team leader Corrine Moustard-Callon said: "We don't know what happened, except it was his tibia.

"He is in the hospital with a doctor now. We will do more exams to see if it is just the bone.

"It is very difficult for the team. He was one of the friendliest on the team which is very difficult. He came to win a medal and gave everything."

Danell Levya of USA who had won the bronze medal at London 2012 said: "Even though we're on different teams, we know each other and I've known Samir since I was 14.

"It really sucks, but we have a job to do."

The 26-year-old Frenchman's dream of winning an Olympics gold medal got shattered due to this unfortunate occurence.

Everybody will hope that the gymnast come back strongly and aim for glory at Tokyo Olympics 2016.
