La Liga game week 13: Roundup and results

Bengaluru, Nov 27: La Liga game week 13 is underway and 9 out of the 10 matches were played during the weekend.

Real Madrid played the headlining match of the day and comfortably defeated Sporting Gijon 2-1 courtesy a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid moved 7 points clear on top of the table and are now looking favourites to win their first La Liga title since 2011.

Atletico Madrid picked up a comfortable 3-0 win over Osasuna on Sunday. The final match of Day 2 featured defending champions FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad.

The Catalan giants were yet again held for a 1-1 draw. Sociedad took the lead in the second half but Lionel Messi soon scored the equaliser.

Barcelona missed several chances which cost them two crucial points. They now head to the El Clasico next weekend with a 6 points deficit with leaders Real Madrid.
