Bengaluru, Oct 12: Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of India's limited overs cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, finds herself in a multi-crore fraud case and an FIR (First Information Report) has been filed against her, according to media reports on Wednesday (October 12).
"Daily Bhaskar" reported that an FIR has been filed under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Sakshi and 3 others based on a complaint by Dennis Arora from Gurugram.
The 4 named in the FIR are Sakshi, Arun Pandey, Shubhawati Pandey and Pratima Pandey, all directors of Rhiti MSD Almode Private Limited.
The report said the quartet has shares in Sportsfit World, a gym and fitness centre, of which Dennis is a co-director.
Dennis' father Vikas Arora owns 39 per cent of shares in Sportsfit and the directors of Rhiti MSD Almode Private Limited decided to buy the shares for "approximately Rs 11 crore" but was only paid Rs 2.25 crore, the report stated.
The last date to repay the remaining amount was March 31 following which a complaint was filed against Sakshi and others at Sushant Lok police station in Gurugram.
Arun Pandey clarified that Sakshi had left the company "almost a year ago" and they had paid more than the shares which were transferred.
So far there has not been any official statement from Sakshi.
Captain Dhoni is preparing for the five-match One Day International series against New Zealand. The opening game is in Dharamsala on Sunday (October 16).
