Melbourne, March 29: Australia crushed New Zealand to win the ICC World Cup 2015 here today at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in front of 93,000 spectators.

James Faulkner was named Man-of-the-match for his three crucial wickets while Mitchell Starc took home the Player-of-the-tournament honour for his 22 wickets, joint most in the event.

New Zealand were bundled out for 183 and Australia clinched victory by 7 wickets. Steve Smith hit the winning runs. Captain Michael Clarke bowed out of ODIs with the trophy.
