Controversy: Yuvraj's dad hits out at Dhoni, blames him for son's WC omission

New Delhi, Feb 16: Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh today blamed India captain MS Dhoni for his son's exclusion from the World Cup 2015 squad.

World Cup Special

Yograj, who is a former India Test player, on Monday hit out at Dhoni. However, Yuvraj took to Twitter to stop the controversy when he said his dad "got carried away", adding he enjoyed playing under Dhoni and would do so in future.

"Want to know what is MS Dhoni's problem with my son, he played for the nation even while suffering from cancer," Yograj was quoted as saying by ANI news agency today.

He further stated, "If MS Dhoni is having personal issues with my son, I won't do anything. God will do justice. Pray India wins World Cup under his captaincy but nothing can be more sad that you behaved this way."

"I was shocked that Yuvraj Singh was not in the squad," he said.

In a Tweet, Yuvraj said, "Like every parent my dad is also passionate and I am sure got carried away always enjoyed playing under Mahi n would do so in future."

Yuvraj was the Man-of-the-series in 2011 World Cup, which India won. He had played the tournament despite suffering from cancer, which he revealed later.

For this year's World Cup, Yuvraj was not picked even in the 30-man probables list. India began their campaign with a 76-run win over Pakistan yesterday at Adelaide Oval.

Today, Yuvraj fetched a record Rs 16 crores at IPL 18 players auction. He was bought by Delhi Daredevils.
