Dhaka, Feb 22: Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today (February 22) suffered a muscle spasm in the back during training ahead of the Asia Cup Twenty20 tournament here.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday, said Dhoni suffered a muscle spasm during training in Dhaka. And as a cover, wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel has been picked to join the team. (Asia Cup squads)
"India ODI and T20I captain MS Dhoni has suffered a muscle spasm in the back during a training session today in Dhaka.
"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Parthiv Patel as the back-up wicketkeeper for the upcoming Asia Cup, 2016. He will join the team in Dhaka at the earliest," BCCI said in a media advisory on Monday evening.
The 30-year-old Parthiv has featured in 20 Tests, 38 ODIs and 2 T20Is. However, he has not played for India since February 2012.
India open their campaign in Asia Cup T20 on Wednesday (February 24), against hosts Bangladesh. Two days back, paceman Mohammed Shami was ruled out of the tournament due to injury and Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named as replacement.
