7-year-old Bengaluru girl Dhanya wins CBSE National Skating gold in Gujarat

Bengaluru, Jan 7: City girl Dhanya T added another gold medal in her short skating career when she topped in the Quad Roller Skating event of CBSE National Skating Championship 2015-16.

Dhanya, a student of BGS Public School, Bengaluru recently bagged a gold medal in the 500 metres rink race for Under 8 years in the Quad Roller Skating event of CBSE National Skating Championship 2015-2016.

The competition was held at Urmi School and Hostel, Sama Vadodara, Gujarat from December 30, 2015 to January 2, 2016.

7-year-old Dhanya is the daughter of HRT Mallikarjun and Chaya BU. She trains at Best Club RR Nagar, Bengaluru. She started her skating championship career at the age of 5 and has so far bagged 11 golds and 1 silver. Dhanya has won events in Karnataka and other states.

  • 2014 Open District & Open State (5 gold and 1 silver) Under 6 years age group
  • 2015 Open District (2 gold) and Open State (2 gold) Under 6 years age group
  • 2015 CBSE South Zone Championship Hyderabad (1 gold) Under 8 Years age group
  • 2015-16 CBSE National Championship Vadodara, Gujarat (1 gold) Under 8 Years age group
