Jharkhand: Is Babulal Marandi hinting at allying with former party BJP?

Ranchi, Dec 23: Former Jharkhand chief minister and chief of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Babulal Marandi said on Monday that he is ready to explore all options for a post-poll alliance, a CNN-IBN report said.

A former BJP leader who served as Jharkhand's first chief minister between 2000 and 2003, Marandi said the decision on a post-poll alliance will be taken after the results are declared. Marandi formed the JVM after quitting the BJP in 2006 and bagged 11 seats in the 2009 assembly election.

Eighty-one seats of Jharkhand assembly went to the election between November 25 and December 20 along with Jammu and Kashmir. Exit polls have predicted a complete sweep for the BJP in the state.

Jharkhand is one of the most politically unstable state of the Union. The state has seen five chief ministers serving in nine terms along with three phases of Presidential Rule since November 2000 when it was formed.
