Mumbai shocker: LPG delivery men rape 19-year old homemaker

Mumbai, Jan 31: In a shameful incident, a 19-year-old homemaker was

on Tuesday by two LPG cylinder delivery men at her residence in a chawl at MIDC

, Mumbai.

According to TOI report, the two accused- 19-year-old Chandan Jaiswaland and 35-year-old Mohammed Alam Shaikh have been arrested.

The two accused entered the home of victim on the pretext of checking whether the gas cylinders were working properly or not.

The duo performed unnatural sex on the victim and also stole her gold jewellery and other valuables before fleeing.

After regaining consciousness, the victim called her husband, who works in a private bank and narrated the horrific incident.

Then, they filed complaint against the duo at the MIDC police station.

The victim is a native of UP and shifted to Mumbai 5 months ago after marriage.

The MIDC police confirmed that the accused were employees of Andheri gas agency and they were arrested on charges of IPC 's section 34 (common intention), 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural offence) and 392 (robbery).

Both have been sent to the police custody till February 6.

The victim is a native of Uttar Pradesh and shifted to Mumbai five months ago, after her marriage.

Chandan Jaiswal, the main accused also hailed from UP and he had 'befriended' victim before commiting the crime.

The victim had no idea what were Jaiswal's intentions.

An police official who is investigating the case revealed that"during his previous visits to deliver gas cylinders, Jaiswal learnt the victim' husband and brother-in-law leave for work at 8 am and return after 7 pm" while adding that, "he told us he thought the victim had fallen in love with him and, therefore, planned to commit the crime with an accomplice."

Last year in July, a 17-year-old pizza delivery boy raped a 22-year-old woman in Worli and attempted to kill her.
