National Law School student raped by 8 men in Bangalore
The Jnanabharathi Police said that the victim, a second year student of the National Law School of India University, had gone out with an IBM employee whom she had recently befriended on a social networking site.
While returning in the man's car to the hostel where the victim stays, the duo stopped near the forest and got out of the car. Both were walking through the forest around 9.30 pm when eight men surrounded them.
The group first attacked the victim's friend with iron rods and asked him to give all the money in his possession. Since he had left behind his wallet in the car, one of the attackers accompanied the man as he went to get it.
However, the latter saw a constable on the way and cried out for help. Seeing the constable rushing towards them, the attacker ran away.
Though the victim's friend and the constable subsequently combed the forest, they could not find the group or the victim. After midnight, the victim called her friend to inform that she had been gangraped.
The victim underwent medical test at the Vani Vilas Hospital yesterday. Her condition is stable. The test report is awaited.
