Rains bring much-needed relief for people in Bihar
Patna, Aug 10: Rains brought much needed respite from the sultry weather conditions for people of the state capital on Tuesday.
Light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places in south central Bihar and at a few places in rest parts of the state except north east where light rainfall occurred at one or two places only, MeT department said.
Heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places in south west and south central Bihar in past 24 hours, it said.
Patna and Gaya recorded 14.2 mm and 10.0 mm of rainfall today respectively while Bhagalpur and Purnea registered no rainfall, MeT office said.
Rains brought the temperatures down by few notches at both places of Patna and Gaya which recorded a maximum temperature of 32.9 degrees Celsius and 29.9 degrees Celsius, it said.
While Bhagalpur recorded the highest temperature among the major cities at 35.5 degrees Celsius, Purnea recorded 35.4 degrees Celsius.
In its forecast for next 24 hours, MeT department said that it would be a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers in Patna and Gaya while Bhagalpur is expected to witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain.

per
cent
of
humidity
level
in
morning
and
evening
following
the
rainfall
while
Bhagalpur
had
the
highest
percentage
of
humidity
level
in
the
morning
at
84
and
67
in
the
evening.
Purnea's humidity level ranged between 75 to 79 both in the morning and evening.
