Muzaffarpur rape case: Owner of shelter home is close to Nitish Kumar, says Tejashwi
Muzaffarpur, July 23: Police started digging premises of Muzaffarpur shelter home where a girl was allegedly beaten to death and buried. the digging is taking place based on the statement of one of the victims. The girl said a girl was killed after disagreement with staff members of the shelter home.
Harpreet Kaur, SSP, Muzaffarpur, said, " 10 people have been arrested so far, we will soon file a chargesheet against them. None of the girls have mentioned that they were ever taken outside the hostel."
"Nothing has been found so far at the shelter home premises where digging is underway. We are conducting a thorough investigation, police is working independently." she said.
According to Patnadaily, 40 children at the Muzaffarpur shelter home were said to be sexually abused. This was confirmed by Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harpreet Kaur adding an FIR was lodged against the staff of Sewa Sankalp Ewam Vikas Samiti, an NGO, on May 31.
Former deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav alleged that owner of the NGO that runs the shelter home is close to CM Nitish Kumar. Tejashwi said, " Owner of the NGO that runs the shelter home is close to CM Nitish Kumar, had even campaigned for him in elections."
Meanwhile, RJD MLAs stages a protest outside Bihar legislative assembly over Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case.
Also, Madhepura (Bihar) MP Pappu Yadav raised Muzaffarpur shelter home rape issue in Lok Sabha and demanded CBI inquiry into the incident.
