Bihar govt increases compensation for acid-attack
Patna, July 17: Bihar government has decided to compensation for acid-attack and rape survivors on Tuesday. In the Cabinet meeting in Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar approved 'Victim Compensation Scheme 2018.
Under the new scheme, compensation for acid-attack and rape survivors from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 7 lakh. The compensation for survivors below 14 years of age will be increased by 50 per cent.
The Bihar government has decided that every district will have its own fund to provide immediate assistance to the victims. Initially, wo lakh rupees have been kept in this fund. It will be used to provide immediate relief to the victim.
