Yamuna river crosses danger level, 43 boats deployed for rescue ops

New Delhi, July 28: The water level in Yamuna river crosses danger level following rainfall in the national capital. Currently, flowing at 204.92 meters on Saturday. As water levels increased 1,15,000 cusec of water was released from Haryana's Hathini Kund Barrage on Thursday.

Forty-three boats have been deployed for rescue and relief operations.

K Mahesh, DM East (Delhi), said, "Yamuna crossing danger level. We have a proactive approach. The preparation started in June. We have a 24-hour control room at East District that will continue till 15 Oct. Dy Commissioners & District Magistrates will make arrangements for relief operations."

CWC, Upper Yamuna Division, New Delhi on issued flood forecast for Delhi Railway Bridge (North Delhi Dt NCT, Delhi), tweeted, "The Water Level of River Yamuna at Delhi Rly. The bridge is expected to 204.50 meter at 2100 to 2300 hours on 28.07.2018. thereafter Steady. (Warning Level 204.00 m). The above Flood Forecast may be affected by the release of discharge from Wazirabad Barrage and Okhla Barrage. Executive Engineer UYD, CWC, New Delhi".
