New Delhi, April 5: BJP leader Shazi Ilmi on Saturday said all accusation made by Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal against senior leaders like Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan of working against the party were baseless. Ilmi, who was in the AAP earlier but left the party last June citing the unfavourable working conditions in the party due to the personality cult of Kejriwal, said the letter from Bhushan clearly says that they would have done all this earlier as well if they wanted to do. She said that this proves that all allegations made by Kejriwal that they wanted to destroy the party were baseless and condemnable.

Yadav and Bhushan had a serious tiff with the top leadership of the party following a series of sting operations and were ousted from a number of posts in the party. [Bhushan, Yadav ousted from AAP's national council]

A big ruckus took place at the party's National Council meeting in the capital on March 28. Yadav, Bhushan and their supporters alleged that they were manhandled by Kejriwal's goons at the meeting and said democracy was murdered.

Ilmi, who was also a founding member of the AAP which had stormed the country's political scene with an impressive show in the Delhi election of 2013, said she knows people like Bhushan and Yadav and was convinced that the former had written the letter from his heart.

She said a difference could also be seen in Kejriwal's thought process. She said the AAP chief was "claiming to weave a unusual kind of politics". [AAP has been stung too many times already]

He said the Delhi CM attacked him, Yadav and his father Shanti Bhushan at the national executive meeting instead of giving a review of the party's performance. He also accused Kejriwal of ordering the release of an edited version of his speech made at the executive meeting. He said the portions showing the hooliganism of the mob were cautiously edited.
