Acting on a tip-off that Kumar would be coming to Kalkaji yesterday, the police laid a trap to nab him.

He was arrested from near a private bank branch at the Outer Ring Road in Kalkaji, the DCP said.

During interrogation, Kumar, a former club bouncer in Gurgaon, said that in May, an acquaintance informed him that he had been dismissed from the service in MITSUBA company by Dinesh Kumar Sharma, who was the company's HR.

In order to take revenge, they hatched a conspiracy to kill him, Biswal said.

Subsequently, on June 7, Kumar along with one of his associates Surender fired two gunshots at Sharma near GITC College on the Tavadu Road in Haryana while he was going to office in his car, the DCP said.

However, Sharma escaped the attack with minor injuries, the DCP said.

Kumar, who was evading arrest, was planning to flee to Nepal with the help of an agent, Biswal said.

The accused procured arms license from Rewari and was also running a transport business, he added.
