Not bribing voters but exposing other parties: Kejriwal replies to EC

New Delhi, Jan 24: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday replied to the Election Commission (EC) on its notice to him over his recent remarks on bribery. [Unfazed Kejriwal attacks Congress, BJP]

In his reply, Kejriwal said he did not mean to bribe the voters and wanted to expose other parties who wanted to indulge in such unfair means to influence election. [R-Day celebration is not Arvind Kejriwal's birthday party]

Kejriwal said in two rallies in Delhi that the voters should take bribe form the Congress and BJP, his two main opponents in the February 7 polls, but they should vote for the AAP.

The poll panel had also censured Kejriwal over his reported remarks that the BJP was inciting communal riots in parts of Delhi. [Delhi assembly election 2015 coverage]

The EC issued him fresh showcause notice over the bribery remarks. The AAP leader was asked to reply by 11 am on January 27 failing which the poll panel would take a decision without any further reference.

The results of the Delhi poll will be declared on February 10.
