New IB, R&AW chiefs appointed by government
Rajiv Jain will be the new chief of the Intelligence Bureau while Anil Dhasmana will head the Research and Analysis Wing
New Delhi, Dec 17: Rajiv Jain will be the new chief of the Intelligence Bureau while Anil Dhasmana will head the Research and Analysis Wing. The new appointments were made by the government on Saturday.
Jain takes over from Dineshwar Sharma as the IB chief. Dhasmana succeeds Rajinder Khanna. Rajiv Jain (1980 batch Jharkhand cadre), was the No.2 in IB, and was a frontrunner for the post. Jain was earlier state Intelligence Bureau, head for Delhi and Ahmedabad.
In R&AW, the top choice was always the head of the Aviation Research Centre Anil Dhasmana (1980 batch, Madhya Pradesh). Dhasmana has held many important assignments of India's premier external intelligence agency.
