Golden Baba undertakes his final Kanwar Yatra sporting gold worth Rs 6 crore: report
New Delhi, Aug 1: Golden Baba is back and this time with even more gold.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, Baba, aka Sudhir Makkar, undertook his 25th Kanwar Yatra this year by wearing gold jewellery worth around 20 kilograms, the price of which would be around Rs 6 crore. In 2016, the man was wearing 12 kg of the valuables while in 2017, it amount was worth 14.5 kgs, the report added. The 2018 yatra is said to be the man's final one.
Golden Baba's 2017 possession included 21 gold chains, 21 lockets of deities, armlet, etc. and he told Hindustan Times: "The new chain weighs two kgs and has a locket of Shiva. I am not wearing much gold on this journey as its weight has affected my nerves at the neck and also affected vision of one eye. This is my penultimate Kanwar Yatra and 2018 will be last ending with a silver jubilee."

Golden Baba is known to travel in a motorcade featuring several vehicles and is well-known throughout the 200 kilometre route between Haridwar and Delhi, the report added.
The baba, known for his passion for gold, also wears a Rolex watch worth Rs 27 lakh and owns cars of high-end brands that are used in his motorcade.
