Ebola scare reaches New Delhi
New Delhi, Aug 8: Even as many nations across the world are bracing for the deadly Ebola virus outbreak, New Delhi is on high alert after some reports suggest that a Delhi resident had arrived from Ghana on a flight in which one passenger had tested positive for Ebola virus.

There have been no confirmed reports of the virus affecting any person but the government is keeping a close watch on this passenger and his house mates.

Meanwhile, screening at airports has begun in order to keep the virus in check. Health Minister Harshvardhan on Thursday said that people must defer any non essential travel to the countries affected by the Ebola virus.

DCGA officials said that passengers flying in from the affected countries will have to respond to queries on a new form.

Harshvardhan informed the Parliament that there are clsoe to 45,000 Indians living in the Ebola affected countries. Among these Nigeria has the largest presence of Indians, followed by Liberia and Sierra Leone.
