New Delhi, Jan 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a dig at Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) while flagging off the campaign for the assembly election in Delhi due in some time.

Modi said people need development and not anarchy. Taking an indirect dig at the AAP, Modi said the former is good at holding dharnas while they know the art of governance better.

Modi had taken a similar dig at AAP and Kejriwal ahead of this year's Lok Sabha election when he referred to Kejriwal as AK49, mocking the latter's 49-day rule in Delhi. Kejriwal and his party gave up the office in February last year after failing to get the Janlokpal Bill through.

In January last year, Kejriwal had urged the people of the national capital to join him on a 10-day protest in the heart of the city and conceded that he is an anarchist. Kejriwal and some of his cabinet colleagues even spent one night on the street seeking action against policemen who declined to carry out a raid on an alleged drug and prostitution ring.

Taking an indirect dig at Kejriwal in connection to that incident, Modi said asked the people to punish those who left them abandoned and those who want to sleep on footpaths should be given those jobs. Modi said the BJP is proficient in running a government and choose the right people for the jobs in hand.

Kejriwal had taken on Modi from Varanasi during the Lok Sabha election but lost by a decisive margin.
