Delhi Metro: Couples find shade in rooms
New Delhi, Sept 18: After being in the news for invasion of privacy of individuals about two months back, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is embroiled in a fresh controversy, where couples can rent out rooms on hourly basis.

In a sting operation conducted by Zee News, it was revealed that the restroom cleaning staff at the Metro stations in the capital rented out rooms to couples, who looked out for some privacy.

The sting CD by Zee News shows that a cleaning staff demanding Rs 500 from a reporter, who posed as a customer asking for some space in the room for himself and his female friend. The cleaners then revelaed that the rooms could be rented for Rs 300 to Rs 500 per hour.

The restrooms of the Delhi Metro stations are maintained and managed by private operators.

Earlier in July CCTV footages of couples getting intimate on the Metro was leaked online, which found its way to many porn sites.
