Delhi: AAP had some close wins, Kejriwal had the biggest victory

New Delhi, Dec 10: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been the discovery in the latest state polls. The party has won 28 seats in the Delhi assembly elections, falling just eight short of the majority mark in the 70-member assembly.

What is also significant is that the party has finished among the top four in all the assemblies. It has finished second in 20 seats, finished third in 18 seats and fourth in the rest four seats.

The biggest winning margin for the AAP is 25,864 at the New Delhi constituency where the party's chief ministerial candidate, Arvind Kejriwal defeated the Congress chief minister, Sheila Dikshit.

The narrowest victory margin is 355 at Delhi Cantonment, where Surinder Singh beat the BJP's Karan Singh Tanwar.

The narrowest margin of defeat for the AAP is at R K Puram, where Shazia Ilmi Malik lost to BJP's Anil Kumar Sharma by 326 votes.

For the AAP, Arvind Kejriwal had the victory by the biggest margin

The biggest defeat margin for the AAP is at Kirari where Rajan Prakash lost to BJP's Anil Jha by 48,526 votes.
