CBI conducts inquiry on Delhi Jal Board, Dikshit keeps fingers crossed
This could spell some serious trouble for the Delhi government and CM Sheila Dikshit, under whom the Jal Board comes.
CBI officials say that they have begun three inquiries into the alleged framing of tender conditions. The officials will also look into the projects concerning uninterrupted water supply, water treat and installation of water meters brought from a private company. Apart from this CBI will also check the irregularities of quality testing.
CBI has begun three inquiries into the alleged framing of tender conditions
On the CBI radar will be the uninterrupted water supply project, which the CBI alleges that tender conditions for the project were tailor made to suit the bidders.
According to reports, the water meters sent to Fluid Control Research Institute (FCRI) for testing the water quality were rejected but when they were sent back at the FCRI they were cleared without any trouble.
If CBI finds anything with respect to the Delhi Jal Board flouting norms and regulations, it could spell doom for Dikshit as many residents have openly voiced their displeasure against the irregular water supply.
